An INTP Who Kept Quitting His Blog

I’ve taken the MBTI test several times, and the answer is always INTP. I also wanted a personal website for years. I started one more than once, and every time it faded out after a while. I used to think it was just me being lazy. Looking at it letter by letter, the pattern is easier to see.
P: the one that kills the blog
P stands for Perceiving. In MBTI terms, P types like to keep options open and follow whatever is interesting right now. Finishing things on a schedule is not their strength.
That matches me well. Even when I find a free block of time and sit down to write, I drift. A few minutes later I’m on some other website, or I’ve found a fun new piece of software and I’m installing it. Building the website was always the exciting part. Writing for it every week was the part that never happened.
N: plenty of ideas, not in order
N stands for Intuition. N types tend to jump between ideas and make quick connections. I have no shortage of things to write about. The problem is that my thoughts jump around, and a blog post needs them in order. Turning a pile of loosely connected ideas into a clean article takes the kind of steady effort I rarely have.
I and T: less of a factor
I (Introversion) and T (Thinking) matter less here. If anything, I types are used to working things out in their own heads and don’t feel a strong need to put them out in public. T explains why I like tinkering with systems more than writing about them.
The real constraint: fragmented time
Personality isn’t the whole story. My time is fragmented, and I rarely get a long, uninterrupted block for writing. MBTI also isn’t strong science, so I treat it as a useful mirror rather than a diagnosis.
What changed
What finally worked was not more discipline. I stopped needing a long block of time at all. Now, whenever I have an idea, I send a few lines to an AI assistant, often from my phone. It turns them into a draft, I read it and say “OK” or what to fix, and it publishes. The website itself is also maintained by AI.
This plays to the strengths of an INTP. N supplies the ideas, and the parts P is bad at, putting them in order and finishing them, are handled by the AI.
